"IS THIS THING ON" - Three weeks ago, Robin Marshall wrapped up a quarter century on New York radio with a final show at WWFS (102.7 FM). After all that time at WAPP, WPIX, Hot-97, Hot-103, CD101.9 and KJOY, she says the last shift wasn't all that traumatic. "Not one tear shed by me," she says. "Twenty-five years is long enough." ... read more from NY Daily News

“Perry Marshall”… “the night when a guy called my show, and in a very threatening tone of voice said, “I know where your car is parked.” He then went on to describe exactly where that was. He added, “but you won’t get there alive.”
“Joel Denver”… “I went on to be PD at WMJX (96X)/MIAMI (where I saved one of my DJs from being taken into custody during a domestic dispute that spilled over onto station property!”
“Barry Michaels”… “My first on air job was at WYTI Radio, where I spoke mostly to cows…”
“Tony Hays Mathes”… “I Could always tell when the owner was hot about something because his ankles would pop as he came down the hall. The faster the pops, the madder he was.”
“Frank Baum”… “You can do anything you want with the show as long as the ratings are 7.0 + starting from their actually Good 4.7” ??”
“Eric Rhoads” … “I told the jox that day to say I had been fired. When Steve Rivers took a bathroom break (which he told his listeners) I snuck in, took over the station, nailed the door shut and played one novelty song over and over for about two hours.”
“Joe Dawson”… “I told him I could be a dj if I wanted to, and he told me to put my money where my mouth is and bet me 100 dollars that I COULDNT find a radio station to hire me as a dj before the end of the year. I took the bet.”
“Jay Albrighte”… “Night guy did a trade deal with me, teaching me the equipment in exchange for babysitting services until my mother blew the whistle on that, embarrassing both of us!”
“Kipper McGee”… “My biggest distaster was at my first PD gig, when the 1800’ tower of 100,000 watt FM108/Waterloo collapsed during an ice storm!”
“Dick Summer”… “Worst experience...the night I quit, the receptionist (on whom I had an eye, but no fingers) stood in front of the studio window and did a slow strip.”
“Joel Dearing”… “Being new in my career and NEVER wanting to make a mistake, I am going ape shit (can we swear in your book?)”
“Bill Figenshu”… “It was WMID, I was 19 years old and lived in a rooming house with a few other jox. The rent was $75 a month with hot and cold running cockroaches.”

"Robin! The Book "Is This On" arrived. Looks great, a good read. I recognize friends style of speaking in print. Good content. Well done! I may need a couple for holiday gifts! Looks like you have another hit on your hands. Enjoy!""
If you do a next edition I'll send a fax of the document. It's like proof that "There is a Unicorn" in radio. Then I'll tell of intercepting (like Bond, James Bond) an arrest of some competitors to "my" station in Miami, and with the power of the FCC license in my pocket winning them freedom, saving their station van from being impounded, and .. it seem, upsetting people at my station as result."
Frank Baum
“I ordered it too. Make A Wish is a terrific organization to support." It's on my desk and thumbing through it -- LOVE IT! Will find time this coming weekend to read it! "
Joel Denver

What People are Saying ...
"Hey, this is Tom Mitchell, and I've got Robin on the air at my station in Syracuse, WLTI. She's doing a great job with the mid day show, and I find myself wanting to listen, just to hear what she says next! You can hear the stream at Lite Rock 1059 I personally guarantee, she'll add lots of flavor to YOUR station too. Call me, if you'd like more info on Robin."

"Robin is fun, familiar and edgy. In a world of sameness, this presentation truly stands out. Mass appeal music for women, Robin says what women are thinking, but are afraid to say out loud."

"Robin will make you money. (See testimonials below for reasons why) Bottom-line: Robin will make your bottom-line bigger. Robin is a money magnet that every media buyer will instantly and intuitively understand. Get Robin, make more money. It's that simple."

"Personality is the reason that people will listen to music on the radio, rather than on competing delivery systems. I remember fifty years ago when Perry Marshall’s entertaining personality launched Pittsburgh’s first fulltime Top 40 station, WEEP; today his daughter Robin brings her unique talents to Country radio with another innovative format, just when radio needs it the most."
